Please Take A Seat!

September 2005 University of the Arts Belgrade and the British Council Belgrade presented "Please Take a Seat!" as an additional event for the Belgrade International Festival of Theatre (BITEF). The production, devised by a multidisciplinary group of visual theatre artists was also a component of the International Symposium "Architecture and the Performance Space"

"Please Take a Seat!" was a site specific performance presented at the REX, Dorcol, Jevreska 16, Belgrade - a building that in 1928 was built as the Oneg Shabbat Building - a community centre for the largely Sephardi Jewish community that lived at that time in Dorcol. The production told the stories of well - known characters who lived in this area, and their preparations for the annual New Years Ball.

"Please Take a Seat!" is a sketch for a larger production now in its planning stage.
